Helped my daughter buy a house. Went on a cruise with my parents, my sister and my daughter. Had a new grandson. And still lost weight.

What I realized, is that I am not focusing on just losing weight any more. What I am focusing on is reaching my full potential. I want to be Healthy, Wealthy and Alive in 2011. I hope you will join me on this exciting exploration.

This time will be different. That’s what I said. Different is not always better or easy. But I have used my time well trying to get the balance right. I made an important discovery -again. I am a speaker not a writer. I like doing my radio show and teleseminars more than I like blogging. They are easier and more fun for me.

Doing what I’m good at.

So here is what I have been doing. My next teleseminar is – “Know where you are going – do better planning!” It is Tuesday, May 4th at 8pm EST. This is an open Smart Office
Strategies Sample Membership Call. This is going to be a fast, content full call. Be sure to be prepared to take notes. Call: 1-517-417-5200, Code: 18253# It’s not to late to tell a friend. And don’t forget to sign up for the newsletter and the May 11th teleseminar at www.smartofficestraegies.com.

I will tell you more about how to increase your successes on multiple fronts next time. What healthy choice will you make today? Let me know?

During the 1st or 2nd snowstorm, I saw part of a cable program on how we are living longer and need to live differently. I can’t find the author’s name or the program. He talked about how we are living well past 65 and need to re- invent how we live. Instead of 1 career, we may have 3 or more. I can’t get the phrase “The 3rd Half of your life” out of my mind!

So what did he say?

I want to know more. The old model is education, work and then retirement. The change is the need for faster and continuous education plus retirement, which are getting longer. He suggested that now the model is education, work and a break and then you do it again as many times as you like. So instead of having a long retirement, you have several breaks through out your life to enjoy your passion. This sounds like a fun way to live. Have you heard of this guy?

Can you help? What healthy choice will you make today? Let me know.

Makes healthy easier

When you are trying to make changes, it is easier to hang out with people that have those habits. I have a girlfriend that that likes to dance. This is a habit I want to cultivate. So I told her, I would go whenever she goes. She is always actively looking for opportunities but now she knows she has a partner in crime. I go because I said I would and each time I have more fun.

Other ways this works

This works well when you are eating out with others. Watch what they order. It might surprise you. My healthy friend orders appetizers instead a main course for dinner. Then pace yourself with the person that eats the slowest. Notice what healthy people bring for snacks. This is a great way to try new things and pick up a new habit you like. Can you think of other ways to use this strategy?

So whom are you going to copy? What healthy choice will you make today? Let me know.

A Penny Saved

I’ve been noticing pennies in the street. I’ve been watching one in particular for almost a week. It got me thinking because my father took his counting change jar to the bank and had $103 dollars unexpectedly saved.

The Penny Lady

It also made me think of a woman who attended my money management class. She made a game out of collecting pennies with her children. They collected them from everywhere and everyone. Once a month they took their haul to the bank. They took a small amount as a reward and divided the rest into the children’s saving account. They averaged over a $100 a month. You can accomplish more than you think , a little at a time, if you are focused and keep going.

What if pennies were calories? We don’t think much of small amounts of change or calories. Did you know it only takes burning an extra 10 calories a day for a year to lose 1 pound? Make a game out of it. Reward yourself. Have fun.

All change adds up. What healthy choice will you make today? Let me know.
