What I realized, is that I am not focusing on just losing weight any more. What I am focusing on is reaching my full potential.
This time will be different. That’s what I said. Different is not always better or easy. But I have used my time well trying to get the balance right. I made an important discovery -again. I am a speaker not a writer. I like doing my radio show and teleseminars more than I like blogging. They are easier and more fun for me.

Doing what I’m good at.

So here is what I have been doing. My next teleseminar is – “Know where you are going – do better planning!” It is Tuesday, May 4th at 8pm EST. This is an open Smart Office
Strategies Sample Membership Call. This is going to be a fast, content full call. Be sure to be prepared to take notes. Call: 1-517-417-5200, Code: 18253# It’s not to late to tell a friend. And don’t forget to sign up for the newsletter and the May 11th teleseminar at www.smartofficestraegies.com.

I will tell you more about how to increase your successes on multiple fronts next time. What healthy choice will you make today? Let me know?

Still Practicing

I’m still getting the hang of having success on multiple levels and not ignoring my health. In the last week, great things have been happening with both my businesses. I had my 4 grandchildren over to spend the night and go to the movies. I had my 38th Wedding Anniversary. And I had a really nice Easter with my parents and daughters. So that takes care of business and family.

What about health?

You could say that my mental health was energized by seeing my family, but my eating was a low priority. Well that‘s not completely true. I made a conscious effort to buy lots of healthy food to have in the house. I bought lots of salad, fruit, nuts, yogurt and lean meat. Probably the best thing that happened was I couldn’t get the big bag of M & M’s that I bought to share with my mother open. I decided it was a sign to give her the whole thing!

By planning good choices, my eating was better. What healthy choice will you make today? Let me know.

This time will be different

Whenever I start to experience success, I then start to focus on it with all my energy. When I am building my business, I tend to ignore my health. And visa versa. Right now a new joint venture, www.SmartOfficeStrategies.com and the speaking part of my business are taking of like gangbusters. And I don’t want to ignore my health.

I made 2 major shifts

In December, I come up with my “I AM ECStatic” Model. And I had a major shift. I am getting better and faster results! The reasons it works are a) It makes you feel good and b) It sets comprehensive and holistic goals. Then in March, I had another shift. I learned how to handle my fears and excuses. I didn’t eliminate them but I can give myself permission and the conditions I need to move forward. Taking just the first step is ok.

How will you increase your successes on multiple fronts? What healthy choice will you make today? Let me know?

Getting healthy in 2010 is a process

As I look back on ’09, I am reminded that it happened with every decision. The total of our decisions is what got us where we are for good or bad. Every decision we make now is part of the process of getting healthy.

It can take time.

What we fail to realize is that we grow healthier with every lesson we learn, not just with every pound we drop. It took us years to get here. It may have happened slowly. The goal is to have more good minutes, hours and days than bad. As the good and better out number the bad, the healthiness aspect in our life grows. So take it 1 decision at a time.

Have fun and know you will be healthier this time next year. What healthy choices will you make today or in 2010? Let me know?

What’s the most you have lost?

Here is a quick exercise. Look at all the times you have lost weight. What is the most common, comfortable amount of weight that you have lost in a healthy manner? It could be 10lbs, 20lbs or 25lbs. It is important that the amount is one that you have done numerous times.

Why is that?

It means that you are looking at an amount that you know that you can lose and have been successful losing before. Now divide the amount you want to lose by that number. If you want to lose 60 pounds, and that prior success number is 20 lbs, then you just have to be successful 3 times!

Breaking your weight goal down into smaller pieces, takes the overwhelm out of your goal. Knowing that you have done it before makes it easier to have confidence that you can do it again. I’ve lost 150lbs and kept it off but I’ve only done it 1 time. I have lost 50lbs at least 3 times, but I have lost 25 lbs probably 20 times or more in my life. So I know, I know how to do it again!

Trying this could change how you view your potential for success. What healthy choice will you make today? Let me know.

You may remember that in August when I added a new puppy to our family, my goal was to walk a mile day within a week. This turned out to be a big problem. My puppy Monk had a different agenda. We had to stop at every tree and bush. I was frustrated that my knees were hurting and about how much time it was taking. I had to find a different way.

Recognizing your success

This week I realized that I was walking at a mile every day. I was just doing it in 2 walks. One time a day we go for a longer walk of about 6 blocks and I keep making it longer. Then in the afternoon we go for 4 or more blocks but faster. Our walks may look strange to anyone that is watching. To add distance gradually and challenge myself, I sometimes zigzag through the neighborhood or back track to add an extra ½ block. I know if I keep doing this, I will be up to a mile in 1 walk soon.

There is more than 1 way to reach your goals. Try different approaches for faster success. What healthy choice will you make today? Let me know?
